Amman, Feb. 3 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), Mohammad Thnaibat, met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov and his delegation to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the mining sector, focusing on phosphate extraction and fertilizer production.

During the meeting, which took place in Amman, Minister Saidov was briefed on JPMC’s expertise in phosphate mining, the production of phosphate fertilizers, and the company’s ongoing and future projects. JPMC CEO Abdel Wahab Al-Rowad presented an overview of the company’s achievements and strategic direction.

Thnaibat reiterated JPMC’s commitment to collaborating with Uzbekistan’s phosphate fertilizer sector to strengthen the relationship between the two countries. He emphasized Jordan’s prominent position in the global phosphate market and the company’s efforts to expand partnerships worldwide.

He also highlighted the significant development of Jordan’s mining sector, particularly in phosphate fertilizer production, noting JPMC’s extensive local, regional, and international collaborations.

Minister Saidov expressed Uzbekistan’s deep appreciation for its relationship with Jordan and affirmed the country’s interest in building upon this partnership. He commended the advancements in Jordan’s mining industry and the expertise of JPMC, underscoring the potential for fruitful collaborations to meet Uzbekistan’s needs for phosphate and fertilizers.
