Aqaba, April 27 (Petra) -- The Aqaba Phosphate Export Port's laboratory has won accreditation by the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, having met ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements, Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) said Monday.

It said in a statement that the accreditation, granted by the unit operating under the national accreditation and standardization system and recognized locally and internationally, followed the laboratory’s fulfillment of technical and administrative requirements. That confirms the lab’s competence and adherence to the highest standards of quality and precision in testing and analysis, it said.

JPMC also said the achievement reflects its ongoing commitment to applying top standards of quality, efficiency and impartiality in laboratory work, enhancing the reliability of export operations at the phosphate port and reinforcing its position in the mining and phosphate industries at both local and international levels.

The accreditation is a key step in strengthening institutional performance and upgrading laboratory services, in line with its strategic plans for sustainable development and operational excellence, said the statement.

It noted that the export port in Aqaba complies with local and international standards and holds ISO certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 18001 and ISO 45001, underscoring its commitment to quality, environmental and safety standards.
